About the position
Role Summary
Accountable for the overall delivery of Pensions and Employee Benefits strategy, policy and related practices and services for Pick n Pay including strategy, tactical design and delivery plans, formulation of associated practice/s and ensuring operational implementation and adoption in terms of pensions and employee benefit methodology, governance and delivery objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
8 - 10 years' experience; demonstrated ability to drive strategy, methodology and offerings across different organizational levels

Key Responsibilities
Provide input into the strategic direction and the development of benefits strategies to ensure the adoption of best practice and alignment to the strategic objectives.
Ensure benefits strategies (both tangible and intangible) and policies and reporting comply with regulations, governance and are legally compliant.
Participate in external forums to stay abreast of professional developments and external best practice.
Stay abreast of current and upcoming regulatory changes; advise leadership on the implications and manage the impact thereof .
Actively support the Reward and Benefits Lead with the implementation of benefit programs and policies that are aligned with the company's business objectives for all employee and staff levels.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure benefit and recognition opportunities are proactively addressed and interventions are successfully implemented.
Build professional stakeholder relationships, advise, influence and negotiate at relevant levels and forums.
Provide specialist guidance associated with benefits methods, programs, interventions and processes.
Continuously scan the industry to identify trends, innovations and opportunities to create strategic relationships with key stakeholder bodies.
Develop / source and/or package a range of quality, fit for purpose benefits solutions that support the attraction and retention of talent. Solutions to include both guaranteed and variable reward solutions.
Scan the organisation to identify what is working best to leverage successes; use information to ensure high performance of the benefits area, as well as effective knowledge sharing within internal rewards and benefits team.
Evaluate the current benefits solutions in order to drive ongoing improvement, with support from the Wellbeing and Benefits Officer.
Assist with the daily package structuring and execution of employee reward.
Support the reviewing annual share allocations as well as the vesting thereof.
Support the payroll, benefits and reward execution teams.
Participate in the enablement of employee wellbeing culture within the Reward team.
Maintains comprehensive and detailed records for all programs.
Lead, coach, direct and motivate the Benefits team to ensure high level, consistent quality service delivery. Manage training for the Benefit team and the Pick n Pay group.
