About the position

We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineer to design, build, and support scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure for global digital applications. The role involves supporting mobile and web platforms, shared digital components, and an enterprise integration platform, with a strong focus on data integration, event streaming, and cloud-native engineering best practices.


 


Responsibilities


  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure supporting global digital applications (mobile, web, and shared platform components)
  • Implement and operate Confluent Cloud (Kafka) deployments for event streaming and real-time data integration
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations using Azure Data Factory
  • Support and enhance enterprise integration platforms connecting digital apps, data services, and third-party systems
  • Manage Azure services including Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, Containers, VNets, and storage solutions
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform
  • Collaborate with digital product, mobile, web, and integration teams to deliver reusable and scalable cloud components
  • Ensure secure identity and access management using Azure AD, RBAC, and Zero Trust principles
  • Monitor performance, reliability, and cost efficiency using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and cost management tools
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud, data, and integration-related issues across environments
  • Document architectures, integration patterns, and operational procedures


Requirements
  • Matric and a Tertiary Qualification
  • 6+ years' hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Strong experience supporting web and mobile application platforms in a cloud environment
  • Confluent Cloud (Kafka) – deployment, configuration, and operational support
  • Azure Data Factory – data ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows
  • Azure App Services, Functions, Containers, or AKS
  • Azure networking (VNets, Private Endpoints, Load Balancers)
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns (event-driven, API-led, message-based)
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Experience working in global or multi-region cloud environments
