Senior Architectural Technologist

About the position

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Professional Senior Architectural Technologist / Architectural Technologist to join a professional architectural environment on a freelance basis.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a Cape Town-based architectural professional who can work independently, deliver high-quality production-ready work and communicate effectively within a remote working environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of their work, work efficiently and contribute to a professional architectural team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, production-ready architectural drawings and documentation.
• Work independently on architectural projects from concept through to detailed documentation and production.
• Develop and maintain accurate architectural drawings using relevant software.
• Collaborate remotely with the architectural team and project stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings and documentation meet required quality and technical standards.
• Interpret architectural designs and translate concepts into detailed working drawings.
• Assist with project coordination and technical documentation.
• Manage allocated work and meet agreed deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with the team.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail and design quality.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables.

Minimum RequirementsQualification

• BTech in Architecture is required.

Professional Registration

• SACAP Registration as an Architectural Technologist is required.

Experience

• 3–5 years' post-graduate architectural experience.
• Strong experience producing production-ready architectural documentation.
• Experience within a professional architectural practice.
• High-end/luxury residential experience is preferred.
• Commercial, retail and related architectural experience will also be considered.

Software Skills

Strong, production-ready proficiency in:

• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Archicad

Candidates should be able to work confidently and independently with the relevant software rather than only having basic or theoretical exposure.

Working Arrangement

• Fully remote.
• Candidate must be Cape Town-based.
• Freelance / Architecture Athlete engagement.
• 160 hours per month.
• Own laptop required.
• Candidate must have access to the required architectural software and equipment needed to perform the role effectively.
