About the position
Senior Architect
My client is in search of an experienced Senior Architect to deliver comprehensive architectural services across all project stages, from concept and design development through to construction and installation. This role involves producing high-quality drawings, detailing, and documentation while leading cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will bring advanced expertise in design, architectural theory, and construction, combined with strong leadership and project management capabilities to drive excellence across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Project Management
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial performance.
- Track progress, milestones, and scope to ensure delivery within budget and deadlines.
- Coordinate with consultants and apply value engineering where required.
- Monitor vendor/consultant costs and review professional fee invoices.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks before financial impact.
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and mentor architectural and interior design teams.
- Ensure adherence to company standards, workflows, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage project documentation, drawing registers, and file systems.
- Oversee resource allocation and workflow efficiencies.
Design & Delivery
- Drive design excellence from concept to construction and handover.
- Produce and coordinate technical documentation and construction drawings.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Oversee site coordination, quality control, and compliance with design intent.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4)
- Master's degree in Architecture (MArch) or Architectural Technology (MTech)
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
- Proven project lead experience
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, BIM workflows, and Adobe Suite
- Hospitality sector and site experience
- South African citizen or eligible to work in South Africa
- Valid passport
