SENIOR ARCHITECT

JOB PROFILE / LOCATION: A Specialist Level Permanent Role in the Architectural Sector based in Johannesburg (N Suburbs)

JOB SUMMARY: My client, an established and design-driven architectural practice specialising in immersive, sustainable, and experiential architecture for the luxury eco-tourism sector. The Firm combines strategic advisory, architecture, interior design, project management and procurement services to help create bespoke resorts, tented camps and unique hospitality environments around the world. Its approach blends sophisticated design with nature-centric and sustainable principles. They seek a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Architect to take a leadership role across complex, high-quality projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage projects from inception through to close-out, and contribute meaningfully to design excellence, technical delivery, and business performance.

The successful candidate will combine strong conceptual thinking with advanced technical and construction knowledge, while confidently managing teams, consultants, clients, and project finances.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's Degree in Architecture
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
• Proven experience leading projects and/or managing teams
• Strong technical, construction, and detailing knowledge
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, BIM workflows, and Adobe Suite
• Fluent in English (Spanish proficiency advantageous)
• South African citizen or valid work permit
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Commercially and financially astute
• Highly organised with effective time management skills
