About the position
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our client's team as a Senior Air Freight Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of air freight operations, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of cargo.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in air freight forwarding/logistics.
- Strong knowledge of air freight operations (import & export).
- Proficient in using freight forwarding and logistics systems.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate end-to-end air freight import and export shipments.
- Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, and third-party service providers to ensure smooth cargo flow.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation, customs, and security regulations.
- Monitor and manage key operational KPIs (on-time performance, cost control, service quality).
- Prepare and manage all necessary documentation including customs declarations, and invoices.
