About the position
The Senior AI Architect / Product Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, and strategic implementation of AI-driven products and solutions across the organisation. This role bridges technical architecture and product leadership to ensure that AI initiatives align with business goals, deliver measurable value, and maintain scalability and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise AI architectures for complex, enterprise-scale systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing solutions.
- Define technical standards and select suitable AI tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure AI, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Lead AI product strategy and roadmaps, translating business needs into scalable, user-focused solutions.
- Manage full AI product lifecycles—from ideation to deployment—while coordinating with stakeholders and prioritising deliverables.
- Research and pilot emerging AI technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated AI solutions and promote best practices, ethics, and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and execute enterprise AI strategies, identifying opportunities for adoption, efficiency gains, and digital transformation.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: NQF Level 6 or higher tertiary qualification in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Cloud Certification (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud preferred)
- AI/ML-related certifications (e.g., TensorFlow Developer, AWS Certified Machine
- Learning, etc.)
- Minimum years 6 experience in a similar role as an AI Architect, AI Product Manager, or related AI leadership position.
- Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale AI solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing AI product lifecycles.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and data science concepts.
- Proficiency in AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and data processing tools.
- Expertise in cloud-based AI services and architectures.
- Familiarity with MLOps, data governance, and model lifecycle management.
- Strong system design, integration, and API management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
