About the position
Hire Resolve's Client is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant for their team based in Pretoria. A dynamic company in the technology distribution sector is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee key financial operations, including reconciliations, inventory management, and compliance. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing junior accounting staff, ensuring strong financial controls, and assisting with audits and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bank and cash reconciliations, creditors, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Oversee inventory counts, resolve variances, and ensure strong inventory controls.
- Approve inventory journals and report stock variances to management.
- Conduct expense variance analysis and reconcile intercompany loan accounts.
- Prepare and review monthly VAT workings and reconciliations.
- Develop monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with external and internal audits.
- Perform other ad-hoc finance duties as needed.
Qualifications & Experience- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience.
- BCom Accounting degree (Mandatory).
- SAICA articles advantageous.
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Mandatory).
Required Skills & Competencies- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to handle pressure and multitask.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
