Well established Underwriting Managers firm is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant – Finance and Operations
SKILLS,QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- B-Comm Accounting Sciences, Finance, or equivalent completed qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience.
- Preference for somebody with experience in either insurance, services or construction.
- Proficiency in Sage Pastel Payroll and Sage Pastel Partner; experience with Zoho Accounting, Zoho Inventory and ServiceM8 is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
- Reporting to the CFO of the holding company and Directors of the company, the Senior Accountant will oversee financial and operational activities, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

- Tax and Regulatory Compliance: Manage and submit tax-related filings, such as VAT201
- Returns, PAYE returns, EMP501 reconciliations, income tax returns, and provisional tax returns, ensuring compliance with SARS regulations. Handle regulatory submissions such as OID and annual CIPC returns.
