About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled and articulate Senior Accountant with strong expertise in financial processes, accounting, and controlling. This role requires solid business acumen, project leadership, and the ability to drive change, manage training initiatives, and work within Agile frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization. The role will also include responsibilities as defined in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles, and controlling methods to support business operations and strategy.
- Lead and manage change initiatives across departments to ensure effective implementation and adoption of new processes and systems.
- Plan, design, and deliver training programs to enhance financial awareness and compliance with standards.
- Manage and coordinate projects using Agile methodology, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders to align on financial and operational goals.
- Oversee financial management activities including financial accounting, cost/overhead controlling, and financial steering.
- Take ownership of any additional responsibilities assigned in line with the AWM Charter.
Requirements - Minimum: Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Administration in Accounting, Management Accounting, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or similar.
- Preferred: Postgraduate degree or professional certification.
- Highly Advantageous: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or MBA.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant commercial or operational roles within financial controlling and/or accounting.
- Hands-on Finance experience in overheads controlling, product costing or cost controlling & management reporting on these topics.
- Project management and project rollout experience or knowledge.
- Proven track record in managing financial process improvements, training, and cross-functional change initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile working models and experience managing projects within such frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and business insight.
Advantageous Skills Requirements
- Experience with global SAP template rollouts.
- Solid IT knowledge, particularly with SAP systems.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
