About the position
As a Senior Account Executive, you will contribute meaningfully to the overall sales strategy and will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing client relationships, and ensuring the efficient execution of sales processes. You will identify opportunities for account growth, manage the sales cycle, and provide accurate sales forecasts. Your role will involve negotiating and closing deals, managing risks, and resolving customer issues. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction and achieve meaningful revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Manage data buyer relationships and liaise with data sellers who seek to monetise their data assets.
- Own and manage a portfolio of key accounts across industries (finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, telco) to reach targets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for ongoing commercial engagement.
- Build deep relationships with client stakeholders across credit, marketing, data science, and executive teams.
- Engage cross-functional client stakeholders to ensure business justification for contracting and ongoing sales enablement.
- Handle customer issues relating to data preparation and data loads to platform, and work closely with support, product, and tech teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Account Growth & Retention
- Proactively and reactively drive account retention and timely renewals through account planning and demonstrating value solutions.
- Ensure ongoing platform interaction and value to justify renewals.
- Initiates upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on evolving client needs.
- Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to negotiation and closure.
- Understand client buying processes including budgeting, contracting, and management of service level agreements.
- Prepare and deliver commercial proposals aligned with client goals.
- Justify client budgets, lead negotiations and close significant deals.
Strategic Alignment & Use Case Expansion
- Establish account plans and manage client roadmaps.
- Conduct regular account reviews and roadmap alignment sessions.
- Champion client requirements internally by collaborating with product, delivery, and legal teams.
- Educate clients on data value propositions and platform enhancements.
Pipeline & Performance Management
- Provide accurate sales forecasts given sales activity and trends.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales performance metrics.
- Deliver outcomes based on KPAs and KPIs set for this role.
Compliance-Focused Advisory
- Detect and prevent account and compliance risks in all activities.
- Support clients in interpreting how the company data privacy and IP protection capabilities align with POPIA, governance, and ISO 27001.
Required Referenceable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of B2B account management or client success experience, ideally in data sales, SaaS, or consultancy.
- Experience working with mid-to-enterprise accounts and multi-stakeholder engagements, including executive level interaction.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and meeting client expectations.
