Senior Academic Facilitator - SOE (Retainer Model)

Position Overview:

The Business School is seeking a distinguished, possibly retired academic professional to join as a Senior Academic Facilitator on a flexible, retainer-based model. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or former academic leader who wishes to continue contributing meaningfully to the field of education without the demands of a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Postgraduate Supervision:Supervise and mentor Master's and PhD students in research design, methodology, thesis development, and publication readiness.
  • Thought Leadership & Scholarship:Contribute at least one peer-reviewed journal article or equivalent scholarly output per year (individually or in collaboration with faculty/students).
  • Teaching & Knowledge Sharing:Facilitate one masterclass, seminar, or lecture per month, either virtually or in person, aligned with your area of expertise.
  • Media & Public Engagement:Represent the School of Education in media appearances, expert commentary, or public education events, helping raise the institution's profile.
  • Advisory Role:Provide strategic insights on curriculum development, research direction, and postgraduate programming when needed.

 
Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Retired or semi-retired professor, education leader, or senior academic with a strong record of research and postgraduate supervision.
  • PhD in Education or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in postgraduate research supervision (Master’s and/or PhD level).
  • A publication record in reputable academic journals.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, media engagement, and/or policy discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
