About the position
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabrication and Assembly: Cut, shape, and assemble metal components and parts for machinery, structures, and vessels, such as boilers, ships, and trailers. This includes tasks like bending metal and welding various parts together.
- Welding: Perform welding operations using equipment like CO2 welders to join metal pieces together according to job specifications.
- Reading and Interpreting Plans: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand welding requirements and work instructions.
- Equipment Operation: Use a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Assist with the repair, maintenance, and replacement of components for machinery, vehicles, and installations.
- Safety and Quality: Follow safety, health, and environmental standards, report hazards, and ensure work complies with quality standards.
- Preparation and Finishing: Prepare materials for welding, which may include cleaning and grinding metal.
- Teamwork: Liaise with production teams and assist skilled welders and supervisors on various tasks.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and tidy work area, including the workshop, material areas, and equipment.

Our Client that is based in Saldanha is looking for Semi-Skilled Boilermakers and Welders for one of their Site in Saldanha. The successful candidates should possesses the following skills and experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a boilermaker assistant or in a similar technical role
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience
- Must have experience in welding, cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential
- Assisting skilled workers
- Familiarity with welding equipment, materials, and tools is necessary.
