About the position

SEMI-SKILLED ARTISAN (MAINTENANCE)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Semi-skilled Artisan.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing support to the department and plants with routine and preventative maintenance.
• Providing support and assistance with repairs on various equipment and machines.
• Assist in mechanical assembly.
• Assist with tools and lubrication of machinery.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge.
• Housekeeping of the workshop and various work areas.
• Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Other ad hoc duties as assign by the Maintenance Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of N3 in mechanical engineering/fitting or proven interest.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
• Qualified Welder - advantageous.
• Knowledge and use of power tools.
• Strength to handle materials and tools (physical fit).
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Hands on practical approach to the job.
• Safety awareness and consciousness.
• Ability to work under challenging conditions.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Sound communication skills (understand, read, and write).
• Must be prepared to work weekends and overtime when required.
