About the position

About the role:

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch mattress covers, bedding fabrics and related products.
• Sew and assemble fabric components used in mattress manufacturing.
• Perform stitching, edging, hemming and overlocking where required.
• Measure, cut and prepare fabrics according to production specifications.
• Ensure finished products meet the required quality standards.
• Inspect materials and completed products for stitching defects, inconsistencies or damage.
• Maintain consistent production output while meeting daily targets.
• Follow production instructions, patterns and measurements accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation.
• Conduct basic machine checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 or Grade 12.
• Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines.
• Experience in textile, clothing, bedding, upholstery or mattress manufacturing will be advantageous.
• Ability to work with different fabrics and materials.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet production targets and work under pressure

• Industrial sewing machine operation. Stitching and fabric handling. Overlocking and hemming. Quality control and inspection. Accuracy and attention to detail. Time management. Ability to work independently and within a production team.
• Beading

Desired Work Experience:

• 2 to 5 years

Desired Qualification Level:

• Grade 12 / Matric
