Role Summary
The Scrum Master / Project Manager is responsible for enabling high-performing delivery teams on the by fostering effective Agile practices and ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment between day-to-day execution and programme-level governance. The role balances team leadership and delivery execution with strong collaboration, predictability, and transparency required for a large, regulated transformation. This role requires someone that is a driver with impeccable organising skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and coach cross-functional delivery teams (product, design engineering, QA, DevOps) to deliver agreed outcomes predictably and with quality.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are outcome-focused and time-boxed.
- Act as the primary servant leader for the team, removing delivery impediments and enabling continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure work is well-defined, prioritised, and ready for delivery.
- Ensure delivery progress, dependencies, risks, and impediments are visible, accurately tracked, and proactively managed.
- Support hybrid delivery requirements, including alignment to waterfall milestones, stage gates, and release readiness where applicable.
- Own and manage RAID across the team(s) ensuring delivery data, dependencies, and risks are captured correctly to support reporting and decision-making.
- Promote adherence to client security, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration within the team and across workstreams.
Qualification Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
- At least 6-10 years of experience working in software development teams
- Relevant Agile and Scrum Master Certification.
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in systems engineering, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering as a scrum master with project management
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Agile methodology for software development.
- Software package experience (Jira, Confluence, Figma, etc.)
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Banking Experience is preferred and advantageous
