About the position

Postion Summary:
This Scrum Master supports multiple agile teams across diverse, complex projects. They act as mentors, problem-solvers, and agile process guardians, fostering positive team dynamics and removing obstacles to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and lead meetings, including planning, progress, review, retrospectives and problem solving workshops, leading average or few teams and ensure alignment across teams
  • Provides coaching not just to the team but to the manager to help align agile practices with organizational goals
  • Identifies and at times implements process improvements on an average scale and partially helps drive organizational change
  • Monitor and distribute relevant alerts raised with Operations and RFI Alerts channelsResearch and propose new technologies, systems, methods or approaches, with the purpose of utilizing the suggested invention within the organization
  • Continuously learn and acquire new or additional skills, improve current skills, and execute a self-development plan
  • Work with software engineers, the technical lead and the systems engineer to update, review and automate, where applicable
  • Documents to be updated:Establish and maintain working relationships with members of other SARAO teams
  • Work with other software team members to respond to inter-team issues
  • Public outreach and education

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:
  • 2-5 years

  • Sc (Comp Sci or related field) with 5+ years; ORB
  • Eng/B
  • Sc Hons (Comp Sci or related field) with 4+ years; ORM
  • Eng/M
  • Sc (Comp Sci or related field) with 3+ years; ORPhD/D
  • Eng with 2+ years;Scrum Master Certified

Experience:
  • Agile knowledge and expertise in scrum and other agile methodologies, often including experience with scaling frameworks like SAFe
  • Experienced in mentoring or, and leading multiple agile teams or projectsAwareness and experience with Agile techniques: User stories, test driven development, continuous delivery, and pair programmingServant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparencyDetermining milestones, roadmaps, and the plans Enable teams to self-organise, self-manage and deliver

Knowledge:
  • Continuous improvement Agile knowledge and expertise in scrum and other agile methodologies, often including experience with scaling frameworks like SAFe
  • Positive influencing teamCommunication and facilitation Stakeholder Management, understanding and managing team dynamics, fostering collaboration
  • Willingness to play a leading role in mentoring and coaching developers, product owners and managers
