About the position
3 Months Contract (May be extended)
Core Requirements:
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or any other equivalent qualification.
- A postgraduate qualification in SCM will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as an SCM Manager or Senior SCM role.
- Extensive knowledge of PublicFinance Management Act, 1999.
- Extensive knowledge of National Treasury Regulatios, Instruction Notes, and other related legislation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the BBBEE Act 53 of 2003
- Intensive knowledge of how organs of state, such as the BEE Commission, SARS, AGSA, etc., relate to and affect and other legislative policies/governance for supply chain management.
Additiobal requirements
- Proven SCM experience in a research-focused environment
- A valid drivers license
- 2 - 3 years Project Management experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the supply Flow system or similar ERP systems
- Knowledge of travel management and insurance

Key responsibilities:
- Establish and execute streamlined SCM processes, evident of ethics, that demonstrate adherence to all relevant legislation and policies.
- Management of acquisitions, tenders, travel management, and contractual agreements.
- Review of procurement by other means / deviations to ensure compliance with legislation and SCM policies.
- Effective management of stakeholder relationships (internal and external) in accordance with policies, procedures,and legal requirements.
- Management and monitoring of the SCM unit's inherent risk exposure to minimize potential risk in the achievement of the organisation'sgoals and objectives.
- Stand in as major point of contact during audits (internaland external) and offer feedback and clarity whenever required to do so.
- Provide major contributions to the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain management function - Seat-in as bid chairperson on BSC, BEC, and other relevant committees.
- Submission of monthly and quarterly reports to relevant stakeholders and departments such as the Client's Executive Management Committee, National Treasury, SARS, and the BEE Commission.
