About the position
To plan, schedule and reconcile Daily & weekly loads as per request by Agents.
To plan, schedule & reconcile Daily & weekly Raw/Labels/Packaging needs as per planned schedule and order bank requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily verifying that each recipe pulled is correct as per the bill of materials (BOM), and reporting real time if a recipe does not align, and following up till rectified
- Daily compile job cards with recipes for each product that needs to be produced
- Daily compile a production list for the production team, including a summary of all products that need to be made, as well as a copy of the actual schedule for that day
- Current day loading schedule that reflects Loads missed, Loads on the floor, and Loads still to be made
- Production & dispatches report
- Loads out report
- Previous day production report
- Daily reports:
- Daily based on point above adding all the comments & noting who does not have trucks to load their product the next day, report to production what can be made to be placed on the floor and what needs to be made to truck
- Daily follow up on provisional next day schedule by 15:00pm each day to see if the agent has arranged for trucks and what time the trucks will be in to collect the next day
- Daily reschedule any loads that are missed (not collected) and not on the floor
- Daily compile feedback based on above point, would have findings with comments. Liaise with production on what loads can still be made to floor and what loads need to be made to truck (product made to floor/ truck -plant floor capacity constraint)
- Daily follow up on current day schedule's missed loads from day before, and loads to be collected for the current day
- Daily compile & send provisional next day schedule by 10:00am each working day
- Daily production planning & scheduling. There should not be double booking (no duplicates on floor). Need to consider the daily finish product stock report to ensure there is no duplication of product produced
- Efficient feedback where needed to agents and transporters. A very good overall understanding of the corporate environment and what the functions are of different departments (Creditors, Debtors, Service Centre, Supply Chain, Production and Marketing)
- Good communication skills and people skills when handling agents, transporters and colleagues.
- In Season, available during and outside of working hours due to operational requirement to ensure smooth planning, production and collections.
- Daily monitoring of Order bank to ensure we communicate the raws, labels and packing requirements (Raw materials need to be checked to ensure production possible. Packing materials, labels, etc. need to be secured 1 week before production due).
- Follow correct operational company procedures (OCP) for custom blends
- Daily notifying Area Marketing Managers (AMM), Transporters & Agents of plant operational hours each day
- Weekly liaise with AMM & Agents to send in requirement for next week by 13:00pm each Thursday
- Weekly compile a combined schedule for the week to come, & send out by Friday 13:00pm
- Compile a raws requirement for the combined week to come. Schedule and send out by Friday 13:00pm
- Send the combined schedule to all concerned
- Send the combined raws requirement to the Stock Controller & all concerned
- Following up with Stock Controller on Raws stock transfer order (STO)/purchase order (PO)
- Be available after hours if needed for any queries and on weekends or ensure that there is a reliable substitute which is approved by manager ahead of time.
- Required to mentor and upskill a suitable skilled person so that if not available, duties need to be performed by a reliable substitute person trained to perform duties.

Our client based in Blackheath is looking to acquire an experienced Scheduler to fill in one of their positions that will be based in one of their sites in Blackheath. The successful candidates should possesses the following skills and experience
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Com Logistics/Supply Chain/Management (advantageous)
- SAP system experience and Sizanani experience
- Grade 12
- Computer literacy at an intermediate level (Excel & Word). Proficiency in data analysis and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights would be advantageous.
- At least 3 years warehouse/inventory/stock control/production/sales/logistics environment
- English is business language (Afrikaans would be advantageous)
