About the position
Our client, a global engineering company with focus on solar projects and delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, is currently seeking to hire a SCADA/ PTMC Engineer to join their growing team in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This will be a project-based contract until November 2027.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant Engineering Degree
- ECSA registered as a PrEng/ PrTech Eng
- Strong experience working on large renewable energy projects, ideally in the solar energy sector
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Must be willing to relocate to Postmasburg, Northern Cape if outside the area
- Must be able to pass a site medical
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Implement and configure the SCADA/PTMC system according to the approved engineering design.
- Configure SCADA servers, HMIs, PLCs, RTUs and communication interfaces.
- Integrate equipment such as PV inverters, BESS/ Power Conversion System (PCS), plant controllers, weather stations, meters and substations into the SCADA system.
- Configure and verify tags, signals, alarms, trends, status indications and control commands.
- Perform I/O and signal mapping, ensuring field equipment communicates correctly with SCADA/PTMC.
