About the position

We are seeking an experienced SAP PPM Basis Consultant to join our team for a critical project involving the provision of technical and functional support and maintenance for SAP R/3 ECC6 EHP7 and SAP S/4 HANA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in SAP Basis administration combined with expertise in the SAP PPM module. This role requires hands-on experience in system configuration, performance tuning, and support for project portfolio management processes, including resource allocation, financial tracking, and project planning. The consultant will ensure the reliability and efficiency of SAP systems while aligning solutions with business requirements.


Project Overview


This role is for a consultant to provide technical and functional support and maintenance services for SAP R/3 ECC6 EHP7 and SAP S/4 HANA systems. The project focuses on ensuring system stability, performance optimization, and seamless integration of SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) functionalities within these environments. The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality support, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements as needed.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional support for SAP PPM modules within ECC6 EHP7 and S/4 HANA environments, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  
• Perform system administration tasks such as monitoring performance, applying patches, and managing transports using SAP Solution Manager and Transport Management System (TMS).
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAP PPM processes, including project portfolio planning, resource and capacity management, financial integration, and reporting.
  
• Collaborate with development teams, functional consultants, and stakeholders to implement enhancements, customizations, and integrations between PPM and other SAP modules (e.g., PS, CO, SD).
  
• Conduct root cause analysis for system incidents, optimize database performance (e.g., using SAP HANA), and ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  
• Manage user authorizations, roles, and security within the SAP PPM landscape.
  
• Support data migrations, system refreshes, and backups to maintain high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge transfer and auditing purposes.
  
• Participate in agile project delivery, including testing, deployment planning, and post-go-live support.
  
• Provide guidance on SAP architecture, landscape design, and migration strategies from ECC6 to S/4 HANA, with a focus on PPM functionalities.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an SAP Basis Consultant, with at least 3 years specifically working on SAP PPM or related modules (e.g., Project System - PS).
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  
• SAP Basis certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP HANA or SAP System Administration).
  
• SAP PPM or PS certification is highly desirable.
  
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with advanced proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  
• Proven hands-on experience with SAP R/3 ECC6 EHP7 and SAP S/4 HANA, including system installations, upgrades, and migrations.
  
• Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA database administration, and tools like SAP Solution Manager, EarlyWatch Alert, and Fiori/UI5.
  
• Proficiency in PPM processes such as portfolio management, project management, resource management, and integration with financial modules.
  
• Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting in heterogeneous system landscapes.
  
• Familiarity with operating systems (Linux, Windows), database management (Oracle, SQL Server, HANA), and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
  
• Understanding of agile methodologies, change management, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
  
• Preferred: Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions (e.g., S/4HANA on AWS or Azure) and integration with other SAP modules.
