Job Title: SAP Functional Consultant – Material Management (MM)
Location: Hybrid – Gauteng, South Africa

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant – MM to join a leading retail and consumer-focused organisation. You will play a key role in configuring and supporting SAP Material Management (MM) modules, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvement across systems and services.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and test SAP MM module solutions to meet business needs.
- Identify and implement solutions for new and existing business requirements.
- Provide 3rd level user support, resolve incidents, and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Draft functional and test specifications; develop training and testing materials.
- Ensure adherence to IT Governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on SAP integration (e.g. WM, Master Data).
- Deliver timely reporting aligned to stakeholder communication plans.
- Maintain knowledge base, configuration documentation, and continuous improvement plans.
- Participate in project delivery, change management and deployment activities.
RequirementsKey Competencies & Skills:
- Strong understanding of SAP MM and its integration with WM, Master Data, and other modules.
- Proficiency in SAP design, configuration, and solution documentation.
- Analytical, detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Hands-on experience in Agile and project environments.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and Visio).
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years SAP MM design and configuration experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in Agile methodologies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups).
- Experience supporting retail merchandising processes and SAP retail architecture.
- Familiar with IT Service Management (ITIL 3) and project methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, TOGAF).
Qualifications:
- IT-related degree or diploma (advantageous).
- ITIL 3 certification (required).
- Certifications in SAP MM, TOGAF, Agile, COBIT or PRINCE2 (advantageous).
