About the position
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior SAP MDM Consultant with extensive S/4HANA experience to join a high-impact, global rollout project. This is a key leadership role, responsible for designing and executing master data strategies across multiple business units and geographies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP MDM and MDG, strong S/4HANA implementation experience, and the ability to work closely with global teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality of data throughout the transformation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Master Data Management workstream in a global S/4HANA implementation.
- Design and implement end-to-end MDM and MDG strategies aligned with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with business and functional teams to define data governance, data quality, and data ownership frameworks.
- Define and enforce global data standards, data models, and workflows.
- Manage the migration of master data objects (e.g., customer, vendor, material, finance) into S/4HANA.
- Drive data cleansing, enrichment, and validation activities.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Provide leadership on best practices for data governance and S/4HANA MDM integration.
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and documentation efforts.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in SAP, with at least 2 years in SAP MDM/MDG.
- Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA global implementations, ideally full life-cycle.
- Deep understanding of SAP master data objects (Material, Customer, Vendor, BP, etc.) in an S/4HANA context.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance).
- Excellent knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data migration methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience working in a global, multi-cultural project environment.
- Ability to lead teams and mentor junior consultants.
- Based in or able to work in and around Cape Town (on-site presence required at times).
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP S/4HANA certification.
- Experience with SAP Data Services and SAP LTMC/LTMOM tools.
- Background in global companies or large-scale transformation programs.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
