Drive Large-Scale Industrial Digital Transformation
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in SAP, IT/OT integration, and large-scale industrial implementations?
We are seeking a seasoned SAP IT/OT Project Manager to lead critical technology transformation initiatives within a complex industrial environment. This role requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage SAP governance, implementation risks, stakeholder alignment, contractor performance, and business value realization across multiple operational sites.
The Opportunity
As the SAP IT/OT Project Manager, you will provide independent oversight and leadership throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring system stability, operational readiness, risk mitigation, and successful business outcomes.
You will serve as a key bridge between SAP teams, operational stakeholders, contractors, and executive leadership while driving successful deployment of technology solutions across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Risk Management & Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with introducing new systems into the SAP production environment.
- Validate SAP regression testing readiness before go-live activities.
- Ensure system integrity, reliability, and operational stability.
- Collaborate closely with SAP functional and technical teams to maintain governance standards.
- Develop and maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
IT/OT Implementation Oversight
- Provide end-to-end oversight of IT/OT system deployments across multiple sites.
- Monitor rollout activities, milestones, and implementation performance.
- Identify site-specific risks, deployment challenges, and deviations.
- Ensure rapid escalation and resolution of critical implementation issues.
- Support operational readiness and deployment success.
Problem Solving & Resolution
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex implementation challenges.
- Diagnose and resolve issues spanning IT, OT, and SAP environments.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver practical, timely solutions.
- Ensure rollout momentum is maintained through proactive issue management.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
- Provide independent oversight of contractor performance and deliverables.
- Ensure contractors understand implementation risks, governance requirements, and mitigation expectations.
- Facilitate collaboration between internal teams, external vendors, contractors, and SAP stakeholders.
- Drive accountability and alignment throughout project execution.
Business Benefits Realisation
- Establish benefits measurement frameworks and performance baselines.
- Monitor, measure, and report value realization from automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Track project outcomes against business objectives.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to Executive Leadership and Audit Committees.

RequirementsEssential
- South African Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in:

- Related discipline
Experience Required
- 15+ years of experience within IT, OT, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Technology environments.
- Extensive experience managing SAP-enabled transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of SAP governance, testing, risk management, and production environments.
- Proven experience within industrial, mining, manufacturing, energy, utilities, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, multi-site technology implementations.
- Experience engaging with executive stakeholders, audit committees, and senior leadership teams.
- Strong contractor and vendor management experience.
