About the position
We are looking for an experienced SAP Commerce Developer (Java) to join a high-performing digital and e-commerce technology team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise-scale online commerce solutions that serve millions of customers across multiple digital channels.
The ideal candidate will have strong SAP Commerce (Hybris) development experience, excellent Java engineering skills, and experience building scalable, customer-facing e-commerce platforms. Exposure to retail environments, integrations, and modern software engineering practices is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Commerce Development
- Design, develop, configure, and enhance SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) solutions.
- Build and maintain custom extensions, modules, and integrations within the SAP Commerce ecosystem.
- Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with enterprise development standards.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to solution design decisions.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations, and performance optimisation initiatives.
Backend Engineering
- Develop and maintain Java-based services and APIs.
- Design and implement RESTful integrations between SAP Commerce and enterprise systems.
- Build integrations with:
- ERP platforms
- Product Information Management (PIM) solutions
- Order Management Systems (OMS)
- Payment gateways
- Loyalty and customer platforms
- Inventory and fulfilment systems
E-commerce Delivery
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX Designers, Architects, and QA teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the e-commerce platform.
Quality & Support
- Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain development best practices.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years Java development experience.
- 3+ years SAP Commerce (Hybris) development experience.
- Experience developing customer-facing e-commerce platforms.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems and APIs.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
