About the position
As a SAP Architect / Technology Integrator Expert, you will act as a technical authority for the local South African SAP S/4HANA and overall SAP solution architecture. You will ensure alignment with SAP standard, Group templates, lead process and solution analysis, and drive compliance, documentation, archiving and platform topics across the end-to-end lifecycle from design and build to testing and productive operations.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge in SAP S/4HANA architecture and template approaches (global template, rollouts, governance).
- Strong experience with SAP standard / fit-to-standard methods and process-to-solution mapping.
- Proven ability to design end-to-end integrated processes across SAP modules and interfacing applications.
- Experience with compliance and documentation requirements (audit readiness, traceability, architectural decision records).
- Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies (IDoc/BAPI/OData/API management, middleware patterns, eventing where applicable).
- Solid technical understanding of SAP system landscape design (DEV/Q/PROD, tenants, client strategy) and transport governance.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP Basis fundamentals (monitoring, performance, jobs, background processing, security notes, HA/DR basics).
- Experience with data lifecycle / archiving (SAP ILM, retention, legal requirements) and impact on performance and operations.
- Ability to analyze complex issues end-to-end from process and customizing to technical integration and operations and to document decisions clearly.
- Very strong stakeholder management across business, delivery teams, SAP Basis, BMW central, security, and auditors.
- Ability to facilitate architecture boards, align decisions, and manage risks, trade-offs, and technical debt.
- Hands-on experience supporting integration & end-to-end testing and guiding teams through root-cause analysis.
- Clear and structured communication incl. creation of high-quality documentation for audits, operations, and future rollouts.
