About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Team Leader develop a high-performing team of sales consultants. This role is responsible for driving the achievement of sales targets through effective leadership, structured coaching, and continuous performance support. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between customers, sales consultants, and the operations team-ensuring seamless communication, consistent customer satisfaction, and adherence to all company processes and methodologies. This position requires a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high operational standards, and empowers their team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales consultants to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
- Deliver structured training using established policies, procedures, and industry-specific best practices to ensure consistent performance excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify development gaps, and implement targeted coaching plans to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive, accountable, and results-focused team culture.
Customer & Key Account Management
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strong relationships with all customers, including key accounts, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnership.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for customer concerns, ensuring professional, prompt, and solution-driven responses.
- Identify opportunities to deepen engagement with existing customers, expand product usage, and grow customer baskets through strategic upselling and cross-selling.
- Support consultants in managing complex customer queries, quotations, and negotiations.
Sales Operations & Compliance
- Ensure consistent adherence to company sales methodologies, processes, and operational standards across the team.
- Monitor performance metrics, conversion rates, pipeline health, and daily activities to ensure alignment with business expectations.
- Report on team performance, opportunities, risks, and deviations to management, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure smooth order processing, stock coordination, and customer fulfilment.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes, documentation, and team efficiency.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and sales reporting tools.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a coaching-focused mindset and a proven ability to inspire, guide, and upskill team members.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-demand environment.
- Strong analytical and process-driven approach with meticulous attention to detail.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgment and make decisions aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Sales, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the packaging, FMCG, or related industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets through effective team leadership and performance management.
- Experience managing key accounts and customer relationships within a sales-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer lifecycles, and commercial drivers.
***Salary - R35,000.00 - R40,000.00 (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
