About the position

Responsible for achieving sales targets for a specific IT product/solution, for example content. Carries an overlay quota. Supports Account Managers in maximizing the value of their accounts and increasing account penetration. May provide training or communication inputs to Account Managers. Creates sales plans for product/ solution and works through Account Managers, Pre-Sales, Partners or other sales teams to implement them. May have direct ownership of some single-product clients, especially smaller non-named accounts. Understands how the product/ solution fits within the broader company portfolio, solution or customer environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex

Job Description:

You as an East Africa Sales Specialist for High voltage equipment's (SGs, and Grid components), will be part of the business based in East Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. You as the Sales Specialist, will be Responsible for sales of HV equipment's of SGs, and Grid components (CT, VT, Surge arrestors, disconnectors, Power Quality, and Cable accessories) within a designated market in accordance with strategy. Build long term customer relationships and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues. Identify and develop sales opportunities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Volume and profit as Selling products or systems and services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units or Product Groups.
  • This Role is for the Sub Station Division of the company in Sub Sahara Africa focusing on Retrofit, Extensions & Upgrade, Service of existing install base, New Sub Stations, excluding Civil Works and with the Focus on Containerized Solutions, Mobile Sub Stations, Power Quality installations.
  • Renewables also considered, where we can leverage Engineered Packages to EPC's, including Product supply, Supervision of Installation and Commissioning.
  • Customer relations as establishing and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Sales plans as preparing sales plans and forecasting using company tools, Knowledge of Sales Force Dot Com, Software would be an advantage.
  • Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
  • Sales as creating added value for the customer and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques.
  • Communicates details in accordance with company offering and strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).
  • Marketing as ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers.
  • Special Focus should be on transmission, Mining and Industrial Customers.
  • New market opportunities as identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
  • Administration as managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supports collection and project management activities when needed.
  • Offer preparation as preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Sales Manager.
  • Ensures appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.

Your background:

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
Minimum 8-10 years Years of relevant experience is needed.
Technical knowledge/expertise needed: High Voltage Experience in Sub Stations and HV Solutions is a must.
Must be willing to travel extensively throughout East Africa and must be in possession of a valid Passport for Travel internationally for Training and Workshops.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
