Sales Representative

About the position

A Well - Established Valve company on the East Rand of Gauteng seeks a Sales Representative to join their team.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Identify new business opportunities and generate sales leads
• Conduct customer visits and site inspections
• Promote and sell the company’s valve products and solutions
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender submissions
• Negotiate pricing and close sales deals
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
• Provide technical product advice and support to customers
• Follow up on quotations and customer enquiries
• Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams regarding orders and deliveries
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity
• Prepare and submit sales reports and forecasts
• Travel to customer sites and attend meetings regularly
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity reports
• Ensure high levels of customer service and professionalism
• Attend product training and sales meetings
• Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions when required
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Assist with resolving customer queries and complaints effectively

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ external sales experience, preferably within the valve, industrial, engineering, or fluid control industry
• Strong technical understanding of valves and related industrial products
• Proven sales and business development experience
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy (MS Office and CRM/ERP systems advantageous)
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid South African driver’s license
• Own reliable vehicle is essential.
