Job Title: Internal/Counter Salesman – hardware, tools and machinery

Location: Booysens, Johannesburg

Salary: R16K to R20K depending on product knowledge and experience.

The Opportunity

This position exists to drive revenue for the branch. You help the company reach sales targets. You serve clients at the counter during the day. You build relationships with buyers to secure sales. Your work keeps inventory moving out of the store. You deal with mechanics and builders to supply projects. You pitch tools to buyers to increase order values. You close business deals at the counter to meet targets.

They operate a branch in the Booysens area. They aim to grow market share in the region. They provide equipment for construction projects. They compete with machinery and hardware supply stores.

What You'll Be Doing

• Greet customers and answer phone calls at the counter.
• Process customer orders and maintain accuracy on invoices.
• Provide product advice and prepare quotes for clients.
• Keep the counter clean and assist with stock management.
• Handle customer returns and upsell tools to buyers.

Required Qualifications

• Hold a Grade 12 Certificate.

Required Experience

• Sell hardware products and supplies to trade clients.
• Deal with mechanics, builders, and procurement decision makers.
• Pitch tools and equipment to increase order values.
• Build trust to establish relationships with clients.
• Close deals at the counter to hit sales targets.
