About the position

Seeking a seasoned Sales Representative within the mechanical seal industry.
Reporting to the regional manager, this is a sale's driven, sales focused role. Maintaining existing customers, sales growth and increasing the market share will be paramount to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for achieving the short, medium- and long-term sales and orders objectives for sales area located in the Richard Bay region. In order to meet and exceed the business targets.
  • To establish and maintain contracts across the region appropriately for the successful and profitable management of the region.
  • To establish strategic alliances with end-users, cultivating long term commitment and co-operation for mutual benefit and added value.
  • Be responsible for implementing the business development plans for sales areas, sales areas in line with the company's strategic direction for the region
  • Liaise with various technical departments in order to provide engineered solutions / advice to end users.
  • Prospect for new accounts and establish new accounts.
  • Continuous visitations to end users to meet customer needs.
  • Support and supervise installation of products when required.
  • Promote new products, couplings, packing, filtration.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified to at least engineering degree. Any additional business qualifications would be an advantage.
  • 5-10 Years' experience of making business happen in the mechanical seal industry with a proven track record in strategic selling in a complex / technical / commercial environment

KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning, project and time-management skills
  • Results driven, both individually and within team
  • Ability to work independently daily and be a strong "team player" within a sales/commercial team
  • Experience in a distinctly customer service-oriented business.
  • Technically capable, however knowledge of sealing products in the applied areas as oil, gas and petrochemical are essential would be an advantage.
  • High levels of mental toughness and proven abilities to handle complex, fast moving and challenging commercial issues in a robust operating environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written is essential.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook.
