About the position

Our client, a reputable business in the generator industry, is currently looking to hire a Sales Representative to join their growing team in East London, Eastern Cape. In this role, fulfil a sales representative role within the generator industry/ commercial and industrial industries.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • BCom Degree in Marketing Management/ equivalent will be advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years' sales representative experience in the generator industry/ commercial and industrial markets
  • Own car and driver's license
  • Fully computer literate in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Flexibility- able to work long hours and/ weekends where required

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Sales:

  • Achieve agreed profitability targets
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with current and future customers
  • Expedite and follow-up on the successful resolving of customer problems
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold-calling
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other department
  • Provide after-sales service
  • Weekly customer visits
  • Monthly customer outings
  • One-week country trip every month
  • Travel, develop and maintain brand in the neighbouring country nearer to the branch
  • Achieve short- and long-term sales targets
  • Performing cost benefits analysis of existing and potential clients
  • Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales

Marketing and Competitive Analysis:

  • Quarterly competitor pricing comparison to be submitted
  • Monthly submission of market analysis
  • Research, report and keep abreast of market conditions
  • Investigate, report and understand the organizational structure of clients
  • Keep up-to-date and report on competitor activity, developments and pricing

Administration:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of enquiries, quotes and tenders
  • Ensure the timely loading of sales orders
  • Ensure the timely completion of all internal administration
  • Assists the relevant accounts personnel with the collection of outstanding/ overdue payments
  • Preparation and distribution of marketing and sales aids
  • Provide timely stock verification information on equipment on site
  • Completion of weekly and monthly reports
  • Compliance to all reasonable instructions
  • No outstanding debtors amount in excess of 45 days
  • Customer surveys- within 5 days of last delivery
