About the position
Our client, a well-established national company operating in the facilities services industry, is seeking a Sales Representative to join their team in Port Elizabeth. The company specialises in large-scale textile rental, industrial laundry solutions, and hygiene-related support services for sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing. With a reputation for operational efficiency and service excellence, they are looking for a results-driven sales professional with industry-relevant experience to help grow their footprint in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective clients in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business.
- Research and source client names to build a comprehensive database.
- Source and retain new clients.
- Follow up on clients, build relationships, and resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Successfully market new services/businesses to potential clients.
- Coordinate and oversee new installations or amendments to existing installations at client sites.
- Submit proposals and tenders with all necessary documentation.
- Understand and implement the negotiation process.
- Complete credit/vendor applications and invoice reconciliations when required.
- Produce clear and concise written correspondence (letters, emails, proposals).
- Keep abreast of product applications, services, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and promotional trends.
- Travel within the specified area of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification (essential).
- Marketing or Business Administration diploma on NQF Level 5 (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an external sales position.
- Sales experience within the laundry, hygiene services, or industrial services industry (mandatory).
- Comprehensive understanding of the laundry/production process and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of the supply management chain.
- Strong understanding of the sales and negotiating processes.
- Knowledge of service level agreements, service contracts, proposals, and tender requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and company-related systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, selling, and time management skills.
- Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license.
