About the position
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing sales strategies to grow the logistics portfolio in the commodities sector.
- Identifying and engaging new clients in the mining and trading sectors across Southern Africa and international markets.
- Managing end-to-end logistics solutions including road, rail, and port operations for bulk commodities (Chrome, Lithium, Copper, etc).
- Negotiating contracts and pricing with clients, ensuring profitability and service excellence.
- Collaborating with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and commodity flows to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions using CRM tools.
- Attending industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote the company's logistics capabilities
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics or freight sales, preferably in the commodities or mining sector.
- Strong knowledge of Southern African logistics corridors and port operations.
- Strong track record of achieving sales target and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive business development plans.
- Solid understanding of market research and analysis.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to clients and stakeholders.
