About the position
Position Overview
The Sales Representative will be responsible for achieving sales targets, executing strategic action plans, and driving revenue growth through the effective servicing of existing customers and the acquisition of new business. The role requires a proactive, results-driven professional with strong industry knowledge and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships within the construction and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as set by management.
- Implement structured sales plans to grow market share and revenue.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new customers and business opportunities.
- Expand sales within the existing customer base through upselling and cross-selling.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain a structured and consistent call cycle to service clients effectively.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with contractors, developers, engineers, municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide tailored product solutions based on client needs and project requirements.
- Ensure customers maintain adequate stock levels to support ongoing projects.
Customer Service & Problem Solving
- Proactively resolve customer queries, complaints, and logistical challenges.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and accurate order fulfilment.
- Maintain a professional and solution-focused approach in all client interactions.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline management, and customer interactions.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports as required by management.
- Ensure adherence to sound administrative practices and internal procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, logistics, and finance teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Provide feedback to management regarding market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric).
- A relevant Sales or Marketing qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' proven sales experience within the construction, civil, or industrial product environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction-related products and customer segments.
- Valid, unendorsed driver's licence.
- Computer literacy (MS Office and reporting systems).
- Willingness to travel extensively, including country trips when required.
- Ability to work flexible hours when operationally necessary.

***Salary - R18,000.00 - R25,000.00 + Fuel Card - R6,000.00 - Company Vehicle provided after 3-month probation period (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
