About the position
Description/Synopsis:
The Sales Manager will lead the company’s sales and sales strategy for the new addition of their “High Tonnage Mobile Crushing” division. This individual will be responsible for establishing a successful sales team while simultaneously contributing to sales targets. This role combines top-level sales leadership, business development, and customer relationship management with the strategic oversight of technical, after-sales, and support teams. The ideal candidate drives revenue growth, expands market share, and ensures operational excellence across all functions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Preferably: National Diploma, BTech / BEng/ BCOM qualification in Engineering/ Business/Mining or a similar relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales, business development, or management, ideally in mining, construction, or industrial
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans; other languages are advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license and passport and be available and willing to travel.
- Essential: Prior experience in selling mobile crushing and processing plants to Mines and Quarries across SA and Africa. Existing relationships within the industry are essential to the success of this role.
- Proven track record in senior sales or sales leadership roles, preferably in mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Strong experience in sales management, business development, key account management, and revenue growth.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams would be advantageous (sales, technical, product support).
- Commercial acumen with financial insight and results-driven focus.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
- MS Office Suite and MS Projects.
- CRM systems and sales analytics tools.

Main Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Growth:
- Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion for mobile crushing and processing plants across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Sales Team to deliver outstanding performance and consistently meet KPIs.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, including key accounts and strategic partnerships.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with major customers, distributors, and stakeholders.
- Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
- Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and tender submissions to win new business.
- Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns, promotions, and participation in trade shows and exhibitions.
- Track sales metrics, prepare forecasts, and provide regular performance reports to senior management.
- Conduct customer site visits and market engagement to identify opportunities and strengthen relationships.
- This would include travel within South Africa and Subharan African Countries as required.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, and efficient after-sales operations.
- Recruit, train, and retain skilled personnel across sales teams.
- Implement digital tools and supplier systems to enhance efficiency (e.g., telematics, e-Commerce platforms, customer fleet apps).
- Develop a pipeline of possible sales and monitor two weekly progress reports
- Safeguard company and supplier interests, managing customer claims, complaints, and disputes effectively.
Technical and Client Engagement
- Provide pre- and post-sales support, including technical advice and product education.
- Assist with tenders, proposals, and quotations, presenting technical solutions to clients.
- Work with engineering teams and customers to create drawings, sketches, and proposals.
- Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and client meetings.
- Analyse sales data to inform strategy, improve performance, and identify growth opportunities.
