About the position
A well-established manufacturing and distribution company requires the above to lead and oversee a sales team on a national basis for a company within the food and beverage ingredient raw material manufacturing industry.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A BCom in sales and marketing or national diploma in food sciences would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Previous sales management experience managing a sales team ideally within the food and beverage food ingredient raw materials industry, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth is preferred.?
- Proven experience in sales management within the food and beverage or any other chemical raw material industry supplying the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Good financial management understanding is preferred.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a sales team towards achieving goals. ?
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and overseeing a sales team on a national basis for a company within the food and beverage ingredient raw material manufacturing industry.
- Leading a sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analysing data, assigning sales territories and building their team.
- Planning and directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
- Directing and coordinating activities involving sales products and services.
- Managing all administrative requirements relating to sales and assisting with resolving customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Reviewing operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
- Preparing annual sales budget, monthly forecasts and monthly sales reports.
- Managing and growing export opportunities with the sales team.
- Managing sales targets and impact of rates of exchange on profitability.
- Managing development of new products and supply chain into new markets.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets and expand market share. ?
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
