Site Manager at HR Xchange

About the position

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Manager to lead site operations and installations in the mining industry. This role is based in Thabazimbi and will be on a contract basis for the duration of the project. It is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of on-site execution, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing installation projects from the ground up, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving operational excellence across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations at the mining site and ensure project timelines are adhered to.
• Manage the installation process and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Lead and supervise site staff, contractors, and technical teams.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers to ensure expectations are aligned and deliverables are met.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce safety protocols.
• Manage inventory, materials, and site resources efficiently.
• Troubleshoot on-site issues and implement timely solutions.

Requirements

• A recognized trade qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in site management or a supervisory role in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record in managing installation projects on active mining sites.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to demanding site conditions.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote sites if required.
