Our client, a leading organization in the clearing and freight industry, is seeking an experienced dynamic, driven, and results-oriented Sales Executive to join the Cape Town team
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced freight forwarding sales professional who thrives on building relationships, securing new business, and creating long-term value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and industry opportunities.
- Schedule and attend client meetings, presentations, and networking events.
- Conduct cold calling outreach and business development activities.
- Provide customers with freight forwarding and logistics quotations for new and current based clients.
- Engage with clients to understand their operational requirements, challenges, and long-term logistics needs.
- Position the company as a strategic logistics solutions provider.
- Drive revenue growth and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding quotations, enquiries, shipments, and project progress.
- Provide customer support relating to shipments and service queries when required.
- Ensure all client interactions, quotations, and sales activities are accurately recorded and tracked.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery of services.
- Ensure all signed quotations and project details are properly handed over for operational execution.
- Existing customer relationships and the ability to immediately identify and convert new business opportunities within the freight forwarding industry will be highly advantageous.
- Established network of importers, exporters, manufacturers, retailers, or logistics decision-makers will be advantageous.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' sales experience within the Clearing & Freight Forwarding industry.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in the forwarding industry (non-negotiable).
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Strategic and consultative selling approach.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain effective follow-up processes.
- Professional, presentable, and well-groomed appearance.
- Non-smokers only.
- Hours - Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00 with exceptions for flexi hours after work or over weekends
