About the position
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales and Business Development to lead our sales function and drive sustainable revenue growth. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and growth plans, mentoring and leading a high-performing sales team, and identifying new market opportunities.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between marketing and sales, ensuring strong pipeline generation, client relationship management, and achievement of revenue targets aligned with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned to company objectives
- Set revenue targets, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to refine strategic direction
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities
- Manage performance, attendance, and discipline in line with company policy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Actively manage the sales pipeline and ensure timely deal closure
- Oversee the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation
- Monitor sales metrics, reporting, and forecasts
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to optimise campaigns and offerings
- Develop and manage sales budgets
- Forecast revenue and resource requirements
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
- Enhance brand visibility through strategic engagement
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or related field
- 5+ years' experience in sales or business development & min 2 years in a leadership/management role
- Strong understanding of sales strategy, market dynamics, and client relationship management
- Experience coaching and leading high-performing sales teams
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous
- Certification in sales leadership or strategic sales will be advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- High level of initiative, accountability, and drive
- Strong planning, organisational, and execution capability
