About the position
Summary:
Looking for a high-energy, results-driven Sales Engineer to drive business growth in the Mpumalanga region, with a focus on the industrial sector. The successful candidate will be based at the client's office in Kempton Park and must be willing to travel regularly to the Mpumalanga region to serve and support customers. Strong technical abilities and a proven track record in sales particularly within the Industrial Distribution sector - are essential, along with the ability to build lasting customer relationships and identify opportunities for the client's innovative product solutions.
Open to South African citizens residing in the Johannesburg area only.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers in the Mpumalanga region
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships to drive sales growth and meet revenue targets
- Providing technical expertise and support to customers, assisting them in selecting and applying the most suitable products for their needs
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify opportunities for business expansion and growth within the region
- Implementing effective sales strategies to maximize market penetration and increase market share
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services, as well as resolving any customer issues or concerns
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, developments, and competitors' activities to stay ahead of the curve
- Managing assigned distributors as directed by management
- Any other assigned tasks by management from time to time

Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years' Proven track record of successful sales experience, specifically within the key industrial sectors - notably mining groups, coal mining operations, overland conveyor systems, and power generation stations
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles, particularly in relation to mining, aggregate, Sugar and general industry equipment and machinery
- Experience in managing distributors will be a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with customers at all levels
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and rotating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical mechanical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in industrial product application and troubleshooting
- CRM software proficiency (e.g., Salesforce)
- Familiarity with pricing models, sales forecasting, and reporting tools
- Ability to conduct technical presentations and product demos
- Good command of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
