About the position

Role & Responsibilities
You will be involved in:
New business development

  • Hunting for new opportunities (cold calling and prospecting).
  • Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/ services.
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and sales executives.
  • Report to sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Facilitate the recruitment process by conducting interviews to assess candidates against the SDR hiring scorecard, identifying key characteristics and role fit.
  • Assist newly onboarded team members with system setup and training, ensuring comprehensive instruction in best practices for outreach tools and CRM.
  • Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for any onboarding inquiries during or after the initial week of onboarding.
  • Coordinate the schedule for new team members and conduct training sessions on a selection of essential modules.

Activity & Process Tracking

  • Monitor and track individual progress daily, with particular attention to new team members (including those still in their probationary period), with the goal of achieving monthly individual targets and leading indicators.
  • Provide weekly reports to the SDR manager, highlighting any concerns related to individual activity levels and key competencies. Scorecard for cold call monitoring, reviewing a minimum of 3 cold calls per rep weekly and filling in the scorecard accordingly (L&D for individual team members).

Motivation & Engagement:

  • Foster motivation and engagement within the team through various means, including incentives, contests, and recognition programs (There will be a budget allocated to this).

Ongoing Coaching:

  • Collaborate with the SDR manager to identify deficiencies in the key competencies of team members and work together to implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Offer continuous coaching and support to help SDRs enhance their skills and achieve their objectives.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Lead by example, embodying the values and work ethic expected from the team.

Quality Assurance:

  • Prior to meetings, ensure that SDRs effectively qualify leads before passing them on to the sales team.

Skills & Experience
You have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven creative problem solving and analytical skills
  • A solid track record of leading sales teams and delivering on targets
