About the position
Job purpose:
The Sales Consultant is responsible for generating new business by selling debit order and point-of-sale solutions, and related company products, to businesses within identified key market segments. They are required to manage a strong sales pipeline, build relationships with key individuals and ensure that new merchants are set up and trained correctly in order to meet or exceed sales targets. They must have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
The Sales Consultant will perform the following key functions for their assigned regions:
Key responsibilities:
Sales consultant:
- Ensure achievements of set sales targets.
- Ensure achievement of set gross profit targets.
- New business development.
- Implementation and management of sales strategies and campaigns.
Core responsibilities:
Sales Consultant:
- To market all the products and solutions of the company to clients
- To provide all potential clients with relevant information concerning the companies products
- To ensure that all the relevant contracts and documentation have been collected from the client and are completed in the correct manner.
- Support new clients.
- Generation of new sales leads
- Build and manage relationships within an expanding client base.
- Generate daily and weekly reports of all sales activities.
- Maintain excellent and mutually productive inter-departmental relationships.
- Stay abreast of market developments and competitor activity.
- Be aware of and comply with risk and compliance requirements in submitting new applications.

- Technical Team - Installations & Technical Issues
- Admin Team - Onboarding & Administrative Issues
- Billing Team - Billing Issues
- Development Team - Custom requirements
- Account Management Team - Customer satisfaction

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Educational qualifications:
- Matric
- A formal qualification in a Sales & Customer service-related field is highly desirable.
Professional qualifications:
Years of experience:
- 3 to 5 years new business sales experience
Other requirements:
- Good communication skills.
