About the position
Role overview
The Johannesburg sales consultant will be the face of Easy?Ivy in Gauteng. This person will meet with property developers, architects, landscapers and homeowners to demonstrate Easy?Ivy’s artificial foliage systems, understand customer requirements, prepare proposals and close deals. Because the head office is also the company’s manufacturing and project hub, the consultant will coordinate closely with design, production and installation teams.
Key responsibilities
- Prospecting & lead generation. Identify and engage potential clients through networking, cold calling, referrals and trade?show participation. Build a robust sales pipeline that covers commercial projects and residential opportunities.
- Client consultations & site visits. Meet clients on?site to assess spaces, explain product ranges and benefits (e.g., UV?blocking, maintenance?free foliage), read architectural plans, take measurements and recommend appropriate green?wall solutions.
- Proposal development & quotation. Prepare accurate quotations and proposals, working with the projects team to ensure feasibility and compliance. Present proposals to clients and negotiate terms to close sales.
- CRM & reporting. Maintain all leads and activities in Easy?Ivy’s CRM system (knowledge of Zoho and Sage is advantageous), ensuring up?to?date records for forecasting and reporting.
- Collaboration. Liaise with the design, procurement and installation teams to ensure products are delivered and installed according to client specifications. Provide feedback to product development on market trends and client preferences.
- Customer relationship management. Provide after?sales support, resolve issues, and nurture long?term relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Qualifications & requirements
- Experience. At least 2–5?years’ proven B2B and B2C sales experience, ideally in construction, landscaping, interior design or related industries. Ability to read architectural plans is beneficial.
- Education. Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Landscape Architecture or similar field is preferred but not essential if experience is strong.
- Skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong organisational and time?management ability; confidence in networking and cold?calling; high attention to detail when preparing proposals.
- Technical. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CRM platforms such as Zoho; basic understanding of Sage for invoicing is an advantage.
- Other requirements. Valid driver’s licence and reliable car (for site visits); professional appearance and team?player mindset; willingness to take initiative and meet aggressive sales targets.
