Sales Assistant

About the position

A well-established engineering solutions company in Randburg is seeking to appoint a Sales Assistant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, log, filter, and route incoming sales enquiries (telephone, email, WhatsApp)
• Act as first point of contact for customer queries and ensure timely responses
• Support sales documentation flow including quotations, work orders, and sales orders
• Track, file, and distribute sales documentation accurately and timeously
• Assist with preparing basic quotations (manual and SYSPRO) after training
• Allocate and manage quote numbers and maintain accurate status tracking
• Assist with creation and tracking of work orders and sales schedules
• Process basic sales orders on SYSPRO once trained
• Follow up on outstanding quotations and work orders
• Liaise with Stores regarding deliveries and customer collections
• Support communication between Sales, Engineering, Workshop, and Operations teams

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric (Grade 12) – Essential
• 1+ year experience in administration, sales support, or customer service
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good computer literacy (MS Office)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills
• Professional telephone and email etiquette
• Willingness to learn SYSPRO and sales processes
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle – Essential
