About the position

Job Purpose:
The Sales Assistant (Internal Sales) will play a key role in supporting the sales function by managing customer interactions, maintaining accurate sales and customer records, preparing quotations, processing orders, and assisting with logistics and export coordination. This role focuses on driving sales efficiency, service excellence, and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full internal sales support to the sales team.
  • Handle customer enquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Qualify leads and research prospective clients to convert enquiries into sales opportunities.
  • Proactively contact potential clients through cold calling, email campaigns, and follow-ups.
  • Present the company and its product range to new and existing clients.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and follow through to order confirmation.
  • Process sales orders and ensure all documentation is correctly captured and maintained.
  • Maintain and update the order book, CRM, and customer records.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Assist with arranging transport, deliveries, and export documentation, ensuring goods are delivered and received in good order.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Proactively identify and support new business opportunities within the market.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in an Internal Sales or Sales Support role.
  • Experience dealing with customers and exports across African countries is highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments and inventory-based businesses will be beneficial.
  • Previous experience within the Mining, Geological, or Exploration Drilling industry is an advantage.
  • Experience in procurement and/or logistics will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Pastel and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is advantageous.

***Salary - R20,000.00 - R23,500.00 (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
