We are seeking a dynamic Sales and Marketing Manager: New Business, to lead the growth and commercialisation of Shesha™an exciting world's first raw sugarcane-based energy drink, developed by Womoba, a subsidiary of SA Canegrowers, as well as develop other innovative ventures!

Hand-harvested and carefully peeled high-quality sugarcane stalks, are crushed to form the base of Shesha™, our natural sugarcane and fortified energy drink. Shesha™ is currently available in 300ml cans, and comes in four exciting flavours: Original, Lemon & Lime, Ginger Beer, and Orange. Give one a try!
Our aim is to position Shesha™ for long term success in both the local and export markets, delivering a measurable impact for both the organisation and the broader sugarcane grower community
The role will also run a rural resilience project by assessing what other new ventures contribute to economic growth for small sugarcane growers and entrepreneurial businesses
This position reports to the Manager Technology and Innovation
In this role, you will:
- Lead the marketing and sales strategy to establish Shesha™ as a commercially successful brand
- Manage product launch, distribution, and expansion into local and regional markets as well as export markets
- Manage timelines, budgets and oversee the fullproduction and sales cycle
- Build digital and traditional campaigns, partnerships, and PR initiatives to drive brand awareness
- Develop and manage distribution and retail partnerships including e-commerce platforms
- Deliver measurable impact by driving sales growth, economic development, and rural resilience
- Identify and mitigate FMCG specific risks including supply chain, market regulatory and ESGrisks
- Present regular progress reports and insights to the Womoba Board and SA Canegrowers Board as required
- Assess the viability of access to market initiatives for grower entrepreneurs, relating to Shesha™
- Facilitate the shift from subsistence to entrepreneurial thinking, linking entrepreneurial growers (and other small enterprises) to supply chains
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Business Management, Marketing, or related qualification
- Proven experience in brand development, sales and marketing strategy, and product commercialisation
- Track record of launching and scaling products in competitive markets (FMCG preferred)
- Experience in enterprise development or incubation programs
- Strong skills in sales planning, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination
- Familiarity with export market strategy is a plus
- A valid driver's license
