About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Sales Account Manager to join our team. The role involves developing and managing relationships with key clients, identifying new growth opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction across a range of toy products and business solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth while maintaining our reputation for high-quality products and exceptional service.
Our client is a supplier, importer, and distributor of toys and is seeking candidates with proven experience in the toy sector or selling into toy retailers.

Key Responsibilities:
Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring their needs are met.
- Develop tailored solutions to match customer requirements.
- Manage and grow relationships with major retail customers, including national and regional chains such as Hamleys and Toys R Us (or similar large-format retailers).
Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within retail and wholesale channels.
- Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Deliver compelling product presentations and proposals.
- Lead negotiations for contracts at both national and regional levels.
- Drive new product launches and secure product listings with key retail partners, ensuring successful placement and shelf presence.
- Client Retention & Growth:
- Implement strategies to increase customer loyalty and retention.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide market insights and trends to clients to support their purchasing decisions.
- Monitor product performance and work with clients to optimise range and in-store execution.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with internal teams including procurement, operations, and customer service to deliver seamless client solutions.
- Prepare accurate forecasts, sales reports, and pipeline updates.
- Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns and promotional strategies.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record in B2B sales and account management within the toy industry (essential).
- Experience managing key retail accounts and negotiating with national or regional buyers.
- Strong understanding of retail listing processes, category management, and getting new products onto shelves.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and work towards monthly and quarterly targets.
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid role, balancing client visits, remote work, and in-office collaboration (we're looking for a mature individual who can manage their own time).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field (advantageous).
- Experience in a sales or account management role within the toy sector / selling into toy companies e.g. Hamleys, Toys R Us etc.

***Salary - R25,000.00 - R40,000.00 (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
