Sales & Marketing Manager
Pretoria-East Head Office of a luxury lodge.
The position is full time office based with local and international travel as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality or related field
2+ year's sales and marketing experience
Proficiency in CRM systems, digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
Job Purpose
Drive revenue growth, elevate brand visibility and strengthen trade relationships by executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives tailored to the lodge's luxury offerings. This role bridges marketing, reservations and media - ensuring seamless communication and alignment across departments. The ideal candidate will leverage digital tools and AI-driven solutions to optimise marketing, maintain data integrity and identity new opportunities in the evolving digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Marketing
- Develop and implement annual marketing and sales plans aligned with lodge goals.
- Manage digital marketing channels: social media, SEO, email campaigns, and website content.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing collateral (brochures, factsheets, presentations, branded gifts).
- Coordinate and present virtual shows, webinars, and workshops.
- Liaise with the media team for mailers, campaigns, and website updates.
- Maintain and update trade partner websites and portal content.
Sales & Trade Relations
- Build and nurture relationships with tour operators (TOs), DMCs, and agents; maintain continuous client relations with booking trade partners.
- Provide appointment suggestions and follow-ups for trade trips.
- Conduct product training and virtual meetings with trade partners.
- Manage and clean up the CRM database (Brevo) for trade and guest contacts, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Distribute updated presentations and marketing packages to trade contacts.
- Coordinate tactical offers and OTA campaigns (Booking.com, Expedia, AMEX Pay Stay, etc.).
- Liaise with sales representatives (African Synergy, A2B, Mexico Faby, South America Alex).
- Administer correspondence to tour operators and agents globally.
- Identify and pursue new marketing opportunities in the digital world, utilizing AI and analytics tools.
Memberships & Partnerships
- Ensure lodge participation in relevant campaigns and special offers.
- Collaborate with media on initiatives and awards submissions.
- Stay informed on trade news and industry developments.
Reporting & Analytics
- Compile and analyse reports: occupancy, revenue by nationality, length of stay, extras, comps, trade stays.
- Track campaign performance (FLUX, OTA, social media) and monitor ROI from trade partner websites and marketing efforts.
- Pull country stats from ResRequest and liaise with the Reservations Manager.
- Deliver detailed, accurate, and timely reporting, proactively sharing insights to strengthen company performance.
Yield & Budget Management
- Contribute to annual rate reviews and comparisons with competitive lodges.
- Collaborate on rate proposals, cancellation policies, and T&Cs.
- Approve invoices and manage the marketing budget based on historical data.
- Oversee accommodation yield and financial targets.
- Drive revenue management and achieve sales targets through timely marketing initiatives.
- Create and convert marketing initiatives into sales, focusing on agent statistics, growth, and new possibilities.
Salary Bracket
R30 000 to R35 000 per month CTC, depending on experience, qualification(s) and current / previous package
+ performance bonus for meeting / exceeding targets
