Description/Synopsis:

A well-established, SAIPA-accredited accounting firm in Moreleta Park, Pretoria is inviting driven and ambitious BCom Accounting or Finance graduates to join their 3-year SAIPA Article Clerk Programme. This role offers exposure across all key accounting and tax functions, in order to qualify as a Professional Accountant.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or similar
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Must have own transport as this is an on-site position

 

Main Responsibilities:

Under the mentorship of the CEO, the role will encompass the following:

• Assist with month-end procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Process and submit payroll accurately and on time
• Prepare financial reports – income statements, balance sheets, etc.
• Handle VAT returns and ensure full compliance with tax regulations
• Manage petty cash and record all expenses
• Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation
• Accurate processing of supplier and customer invoices and payments
• Adhere to confidentiality and data protection rules
• Update and monitor financial and tax databases
• Provide practical guidance on basic accounting and tax matters to clients
• Review and check tax submissions and records for compliance
